Video surveillance
Security meets self-determination:
Why video surveillance with senior.help makes the difference
We all want the best for our elderly relatives: a safe home and quick help in an emergency. But this often clashes with the understandable desire for privacy. Nobody wants to feel like they're living in a "Big Brother" container, where every move is filmed around the clock.
This is where our technology comes in.
What sounds technical is, in practice, a digital guardian angel that only activates when truly necessary.
The problem with conventional cameras
Traditional surveillance systems often send a continuous video stream to a cloud. This not only consumes a lot of bandwidth but also leaves an uneasy feeling: "Who's watching? Where do the images end up?"
The solution: Intelligent discretion with the senior.help Butler
Imagine it like a very discreet butler who doesn't stand in the room staring, but waits by the door and only knocks quietly when needed.
... Instead of constantly sending images, the devices communicate via short text messages.
The major advantages for privacy
Event-based instead of continuous monitoring
Our Butler is configured to be "blind" by default.
When movement is detected, the Butler sends a message to the senior.help Cloud and grants access to the video image only to the authorized person.
Privacy remains unaffected 99% of the time. There is no 24/7 monitoring, but rather support only when needed.
Your data stays within your own network
This means: The Butler's communication remains entirely within your home network.
No video streams need to be uploaded to external servers overseas.
You retain full control over your data.
Metadata instead of video images
Often, no image is even necessary. Thanks to senior.help, a simple status message is often enough to provide peace of mind. A message like: "Movement detected in the kitchen - 8:30 a.m." signals to family members: "Everything is alright, Mom is making breakfast."
Not a single video image had to be transmitted for this. Privacy is preserved, and worry is alleviated.
Preserving dignity through technology
The use of senior.help Buttler in senior care is more than just a technological gimmick. It's a decision for data minimization and respect. It enables seniors to live safely in their own homes for longer, without the feeling of constant surveillance – while still giving family members the peace of mind of being informed immediately in an emergency.

Privacy is important; with senior.help, you won't be constantly filmed by video surveillance. The motion trigger sends a message without video via your chosen communication channel (WhatsApp, SMS, email).

In case of irregularities, specifically designated individuals can access the image via our web portal. They can react immediately and organize assistance.

Thanks to the image information, you can rest assured that everything is alright. You will receive advance notifications about movements that you define, for example, "Movement detected in kitchen at 8:32 a.m."
These notifications do not contain any image information; the images always remain in your home.
If, during the daily routine between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., the person monitoring is always in the kitchen and no notification is generated during this time, the senior.help Cloud will trigger the defined alert.
Only authorized individuals will have access to the image!
